First exports to Europe

We achieved an important milestone when we exported to Europe for the first time. This major turning point marked the beginning of our international expansion and showed how our products were popular and in demand overseas. Inter Terra berries began gaining appreciation for their freshness and quality in several European countries.

Visionaries

First persimmon cultivation

Driven by our constant search for diversification and quality, we started our first persimmon plantations. This project helped us expand our product range and explore new markets. Inter Terra’s persimmons, which are lovingly and meticulously cultivated, soon stood out for their unparalleled taste and texture.

Development and expansion of Sharoni plantations

With its sweet flavour and soft texture, it was gaining popularity in the European markets, setting itself from other varieties. This success allowed its expansion into new international markets. The introduction of Sharoni marked a milestone in the history of Inter Terra, consolidating its reputation in the production of quality persimmons.

3 Generations
with a Passion

for agriculture

Background

The Medina family business group traces back to the 1950s, when its founder, Antonio Medina Lama, who was known for his extraordinary entrepreneurial vision, became the pioneer and true driving force behind strawberry production in the province of Huelva.

Second generation

After graduating in Law, Rocío Medina joined the family-run business, following in her father’s footsteps. Rocío fell madly in love with agriculture and was convinced that it was her true calling, so she carried on with the work she had seen at home. At this stage, she focused on new products such as the SHARONI variety of persimmon, and today the company is the world’s leading producer of this fruit.

Third generation

The arrival of the third generation has seen the Medina Group embark on new projects. Their willingness to embrace change and focus on sustainability injects energy, freshness, modern perspectives as well as essential technological skills for the company’s growth and adaptation in a dynamic business environment.
